Volunteers - Sustainability Centre |
|
| The Sustainability Centre (SC) provides access to practical, sustainable alternatives for students; shares awareness, education and enthusiasm for environmental, social and economic sustainability; and helps reduce our ecological footprint on campus. If you are passionate about the environment, eager to learn better ways to live sustainably, and have the drive to educate others about reducing our carbon footprint, the Sustainability Centre is a great place for you to volunteer. Volunteers will gain experience, knowledge and tools in: • community development, • fostering a culture of sustainability, • event management, • public outreach • campaigning • service and program development • leading engaging eco-education initiatives All SAMRU volunteers have access to free professional development courses, have the opportunity to meet amazing friends and mentors in the SAMRU community, and access to bursaries and awards to celebrate your accomplishments. As a Sustainability Centre volunteer you will have a strong network to help making sustainable living easier as well as to support your efforts in improving campus sustainability. If you are interested in volunteering, there are a lot of great programs to get involved with. Visit us on the second floor of Wyckham House to learn more! |
