Coming up: Cultures of MRU
Join us for the third annual Cultures of MRU, when we celebrate the diversity and vibrancy of Mount Royal’s campus with food, dance, music and illuminating talks. In the past, Cultures has been a week long, but we found we had way too much amazing programming to fit into just one week, so this year we’ll be holding events throughout March! In collaboration with the Iniskim Centre, the African Caribbean Student Affiliation of MRU, and MRU International Education.
March 9: Tea and Bannock Talking Circle
1:00pm – 3:00 pm, Global Citizen Centre Z307
March 20: Cultural Dance Demo
12:00pm, Wyckham House stage
This lunchtime event will feature performances from an Ethiopian singer and dancers, Metis jiggers (dancers), freestyle African dance and more.
March 22: International Student Support Centre Open House & World Languages
1:00pm – 3:00pm, E140
Come learn phrases in different languages and get acquainted with the International Student Support Centre. All are welcome!
March 24: 19th Annual SAMRU Round Dance
6:00pm – 12:00am, Wyckham House
Join us at SAMRU’s 19th annual Round Dance! It’s a vibrant social gathering of friends new and old in celebration of Indigenous cultures and traditions. Everyone is welcome to attend.

What is the Global Citizen Centre?

The Global Citizen Centre encourages visitors to share experiences, creates networking opportunities, and provides a venue for students to discuss similarities and differences across cultures.
