Join the Season of Caring and warm up someone’s winter. The Season of Caring brings the whole MRU campus community together at the end of the fall semester to warm up winter for students and our Calgary community.
Are you a student and feel like you might need some extra support this time of year? Click here to find out more about our Gift Hamper program.
Here are ways you can provide support:
Sponsor a Student’s Gift Hamper
Warm up a student’s winter with a Season of Caring gift hamper! Help reduce a student’s financial stress by sponsoring a student, a child, or an entire family. Pick up a gift tag from the wish list board and help support a student through this stressful time of the year. Gift tags are available at the Season of Caring table at West Gate between November 16th and December 9th.
The last day to drop off a sponsored gift is December 11th.
Candy Canes for Pocket Change
Is your sweet tooth feeling generous? Support the Season of Caring by donating your spare change for a sweet treat! Visit us at the Season of Caring table on Main Street by West Gate, November 2rd – December 9th, from 10:00 – 2:00.
No sweet tooth? Make a cash donation at the Peer Support Centre (room Z210), donation tins throughout the university, or at the Season of Caring table at West gate. A charitable tax receipt will be issued for any donation over $10 at the Season of Caring table or Peer Support Centre.
Food and Hygiene Donations
Blue Season of Caring donation boxes, located in most university departments, are available for non-perishable food and hygiene products. You can also bring them to the Season of Caring table at West Gate, or directly to the Peer Support Centre (room Z210). These donations go to filling up the PSC’s in-centre Food and Hygiene Pantry, which students access year-round, and all extra food donations go directly to Calgary’s Interfaith Food Bank.
If boxes are full and need to be collected, please email email@example.com.
Donations are being collected November 10th – December 22nd.
