Student Governors are campaigning for your vote this week. These are students – just like you! – who are eager to make a difference. This year, we have ten candidates running for seven positions, and that makes your vote even more important, so make some time this week to meet your candidates and learn about their platforms.

These candidates are vying for a position on the Student Governing Board. If you’re not sure what that is, that’s okay! But it’s actually pretty important stuff: the Student Governing Board is the policy-making body and the legislative authority of the Students’ Association, a multi-million dollar organization. Since the Board is the highest form of government within the SA, members of the board are tasked with looking at the Big Picture™. It’s made up of team of brilliant and passionate people who all bring their best to the table, all working together as a whole for the betterment of the students of Mount Royal University.

Student Governors are elected or appointed from and by the membership of the Students’ Association (credit students, more or less). These candidates are your peers and your fellow students!

So, as you can see, the role of Student Governor is a pretty big deal. And that means, if you’re a credit student, you have a pretty important role, too: vote! Since there’s ten candidates but only seven available positions, this year’s election will depend on your vote. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and pick your Student Governors!

Voting will be open from Wednesday, November 25 at 1:00 p.m. until Friday, November 27 at 1:00 p.m. You can either vote online here, or in person in Wyckham House at our voting booth.
