Want a part-time position that makes a difference, gives you valuable work experience, and looks great on a résumé?
There are lots of big and small ways to make a difference on campus, but if you’re looking to affect real positive change for your fellow students (and get some neat real-world experience, to boot), there’s no better way than becoming a Governor.
The Student Governing Board is the highest decision-making body of SAMRU, with an important role in directing the organization and acting as its public face.
Becoming a Governor gives you the chance to lend your voice to decisions ranging from long-term business decisions to yearly budgets, and you’d be working with likeminded students who are as passionate about post-secondary education as you are.
There are currently four Governor positions and one Speaker position open on the Student Governing Board. Apply now!
- Governor Position: This is an excellent part-time skill development opportunity with a reasonable time commitment of only 10 – 15 hours/month. Governors will receive an honorarium of $2000 for their involvement in related work groups.
- Speaker Position: This is a part-time position with a two-year term that will provide outstanding experience in committee work with a resonable time commitment of only 15 – 20 hours/month. The Speaker of the Student Governing Board receives an honorarium for their service to the Board.
Please submit your application as soon as possible. Applications will remain open until the successful candidates are selected. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
