Last year, The Hub introduced the Friday Afternoon Jazz program – a chance for MRU students enrolled in the Jazz Performance Credit Program to take the stage and practice their chops in front of a very welcoming live audience of their fellow students, staff members, faculty, and Jazz lovers in Calgary. This year the program continues, with student musicians taking the stage every Friday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in The Hub.
Performances started on September 13th, and offer Jazz lovers a great opportunity to meet up-and-coming musicians. With no cover charge, and great food from The Hub’s fantastic menu (full of vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free options), Friday Afternoon Jazz is a great way to mellow out after the long week, and ‘tune up’ for the weekend to come.
If you are passionate about supporting arts in Alberta, or just want to encourage the MRU jazz students , please come out and enjoy some great live music!
