Each year your Student’s Association holds elections – a race to determine which students will represent you and your interests on dozens of boards, and committees throughout MRU, Calgary, and even Canada.
On November 14th nominations opened, so now it’s your turn to join in! If you are interested in running and want to know more information about the position or your anticipated responsibilities, or the SAMRU governance structure, please contact the SAMRU President, Kaylene McTavish.
If you want any information on running in the elections, we have you covered! Our Chief Returning Officer Shauna Hunter will be hosting an optional information session on Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Council Chambers (on the 2nd floor of Wyckham House) from 12:30-1:30PM. The nomination package includes a nominations form, a copy of your election platform, your photograph, two authorization forms, and a copy of your unofficial transcript.
Essentially, every full-time credit student at MRU who has a GPA of at least 2.0 is eligible to run for an executive position. Any part-time or full-time credit student at MRU with a GPA of at least 2.0 is eligible to run for a governor position. Nomination packages are due to the SAMRU reception desk in Z222 (the second floor of Wyckham House) by 4:30 on February 11th, 2013.
