Interested in learning more about North Korea? On April 3rd, Liberty in North Korea (LiNK) will visit SAMRU for a presentation and screening of their newest documentary, Danny from North Korea.
LiNK is an organization dedicated to creating positive change for the people of North Korea and spreading awareness about the country. Danny from North Korea tells the story of one refugee’s experience escaping North Korea, using a citizen’s personal experience to shed light on social issues.
Following the screening, LiNK will give a presentation on the humanitarian situation in North Korea and Western media portrayals of the nation and its citizens. The organization will discuss their efforts to improve the situation in North Korea, before opening the discussion up for a Q&A.
Presented by the Cultural Mosaic Centre, this event invites participants to think critically about North Korea and their own perceptions of the country. “All students, faculty and staff are welcome to attend,” says CMC Coordinator Nick Beck. “If you’re curious about North Korea and you’d like to know more, come join the discussion on April 3rd.”
