Volunteer Training One: 

Working Across Difference (Required of all program & service volunteers) Choose one:

January 15: 3:30 pm- 5:30 pm

January 24: 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

January 28: 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Event & Outreach Training: (Choose one)

January 9: 10- 10:45 am

January 15: 10 – 10:45 am

Basic Conflict Management: (Choose one)

January 9: 10:45 – 11:45 am

January 15: 2 – 3 pm

Volunteer Training Two: 

Peer Support Listening to Refer: 

January 12: 10 am – 4 pm

NEW: Queer Peer Support Listening to Refer:

January 26, 2020 at 10:00 am – 4 pm

Volunteer Training Three: 

Peer Support Centre Orientation: (Choose one)

Jan 10: 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm
Jan 16: 11 am – 12 noon

Supporting Students with Disclosures of Domestic Violence: (Choose one)

Jan 10th 1:00pm-2:30pm
Jan 16th 10:00am- 11:30am

*All sessions are held in The Gallery on the second floor of Wyckham House (Z 224). Training sessions are offerred both in January and September. See Volunteer Impact for details.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS BY VOLUNTEER ROLE:

CASUAL SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS: Required to attend Part 1 (Working Across Difference only) 

EVENT & OUTREACH VOLUNTEERSRequired to attend ALL modules in Part 1 (Working Across Difference, Conflict Management, and Events & Outreach Training)

PEER SUPPORT & QUEER PEER SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS: Required to attend Part 1 (Working Across Difference and Conflict Management ONLY), Part 2, and Part 3

PLANNING & IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE (PIC) VOLUNTEERS: Required to attend Part 1 (Working Across Difference and Conflict Management ONLY), and additional training as directed by PIC Leader

MONEY TALKS PIC VOLUNTEERS: Required to attend Part 1 (Working Across Difference and Conflict Management ONLY), and Part 2

GOVERNANCE, TAX CLINIC, & REPRESENTATION COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERING: Separate training processes exist for each of these roles. Please contact volunteer@samru.ca for further details.
