Volunteer Training

Are you a prospective, new, or existing volunteer? Which volunteer role are you interested in? It’s possible you’re ready to upgrade your skills to a different volunteer role. No matter your choice, we’ve got you covered. We value your time and dedication in volunteering with us. Volunteer Training One: 

Working Across Difference (Required of all program & service volunteers) Choose one:

Most sessions are held in The Gallery on the second floor of Wyckham House (Z 224), except for Working Across Difference sessions which will be held in Council Chambers (Z 236). Training sessions are normally offerred both in January and September, with some exceptions due to low enrollment or cancellations. See Volunteer Impact for details.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS BY VOLUNTEER ROLE:

CASUAL SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS: Required to attend New Volunteer Orientation, & Part 1 (Working Across Difference only) 

EVENT & OUTREACH VOLUNTEERSRequired to attend New Volunteer Orientation, & ALL modules in Part 1 (Working Across Difference, Conflict Management, and Events & Outreach Training)

PEER SUPPORT & QUEER PEER SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS: Required to attend New Volunteer Orientation, & Part 1 (Working Across Difference and Conflict Management ONLY), Part 2, and Part 3

PLANNING & IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE (PIC) VOLUNTEERS: Required to attend New Volunteer Orientation, and Part 1 (Working Across Difference and Conflict Management ONLY), and additional training as directed by PIC Leader

MONEY TALKS PIC VOLUNTEERS: Required to attend New Volunteer Orientation & Part 1 (Working Across Difference and Conflict Management ONLY), and Part 2

TAX CLINIC VOLUNTEERS: Required to attend New Volunteer Orientation, Part 1 (Working Across Difference), & Tax Clinic Training session
